If you're looking for a cloud sofa in Perth, the best thing you can do is sit on one before you buy. Photos can't tell you how deep the seat feels, how much you sink in, or whether your feet touch the floor. That's why we keep our cloud range at our Jandakot showroom, along with pre-loved cloud-style sofas, so you can compare them side by side.
I'm John, and my family runs Cloud Living. We've helped over 3,000 Perth customers find their sofa, and "which cloud sofa should I get?" is one of the questions I hear most. Here's what I'd tell a friend.
What is a cloud sofa, exactly?
"Cloud sofa" isn't a brand. It's a style: deep seats, soft and generously padded cushions, low rounded arms (or none at all) and a relaxed, sink-in feel. Many are modular, so you can arrange the pieces into a corner, a long straight run or an island in the middle of the room. They suit the way a lot of Perth families live: kids sprawled out for movie night, the dog wedged in the corner, everyone in the one spot.
Where to buy a cloud sofa in Perth
You've broadly got three options:
- Big furniture retailers. Plenty of choice, but some of the popular cloud-style designs come with a hefty price tag.
- Online-only brands. Convenient, but you're buying a feel you've never tried, and returning a bulky sofa is a hassle.
- A local showroom like ours. We import our brand-new sofas direct from the factory, so you can try before you buy and still get good value. We also stock pre-loved designer sofas at up to 70% off original retail.
Our showroom is at Unit 12, 49 Biscayne Way, Jandakot, which is an easy drive from Canning Vale, Harrisdale, Atwell and Success. We're open Monday to Saturday, 11am to 4pm, and Sundays by appointment.
Our brand-new cloud range
Our cloud sofa collection includes Cumulus, King Cloud, Nimbus, Stratus, Cloud Nine and Mallow. A few to try when you visit:
- Cumulus Cloud Flower Sofa Modular Collection, $2,995
- King Cloud 5 Piece Modular Curve Sofa, $2,995
- Cloud Nine 4 Piece Modular Sofa, $3,495
- Nimbus Collection 6-Piece Modular Sofa, $3,995
Prices are correct at the time of writing. You can see everything else in our brand-new collection.
Prefer pre-loved?
If you love the look but want to spend less, our pre-loved collection often has feather-filled and cloud-style sofas from brands like Freedom, King Living and Harvey Norman. Right now, for example, we have a Freedom Long Island 5.5 Seater Feather Filled Couch with Chaise for $1,870. Every pre-loved sofa gets 15+ hours of restoration and a professional steam clean, and we point out any wear upfront, so there are no surprises when it arrives.
What to look for when you buy
Whichever sofa you're considering, these are the things I'd check:
- Seat depth. Cloud sofas are deep. Great for lounging, but if you're on the shorter side, make sure you can sit back comfortably with your feet on the floor. Bring the family and all try it.
- The cushion feel. Some people want to sink right in, others like a bit more support. Sit for a few minutes, not a few seconds.
- Modular flexibility. If you might move house or rearrange later, modular pieces give you options a fixed sofa can't.
- Fabric for your household. Think about kids, pets and Perth's afternoon sun through big windows. Ask how the fabric cleans and whether covers come off.
- Size and access. Measure the room, the doorways and any tight hallways before you fall in love with a 6-piece.
- Delivery and setup. A big modular is heavy and awkward. Check whether delivery includes bringing it inside and setting it up.
Delivery across Perth and Peel
We deliver free across Perth Metro and Peel, from Yanchep down to Mandurah, and same-day delivery is often available. We bring the sofa into your home and set it up for you. Outside Perth and Peel, delivery is $1/km. More details are on our delivery information page.
Got an old sofa to move on? You can trade it in for up to $1,000 off a brand-new sofa (subject to inspection).
